His family said he inspired racers of all ages, Billy Lee III, or B3, used to open up drag racing shows by driving his jet fire truck at drag strips across Florida and South Georgia before jumping in a go-kart at age six. Now he is racing in Legend Cars surrounded by his closest friends. And if it has wheels, he’s driving it!

1. How did you get your start in racing?
I started with Power Wheel drag racing with my jet fire truck. I would always open the Night of Fire shows with jet cars and jet dragsters. When I was six through eight, I was driving go-karts on dirt and asphalt. Then when I was about eight I started Bandos and now I’m in a Legend Car.
2. Who is your racing role model?
My dad because he always pushes himself to do his best and that’s what makes a champion. He wants to push me to improve myself for the future for faster cars and how I control them.
3. How do you get focused before the start of a race?
Way before a race, a few hours before a race, even before practice, I like to sit in my car and think about how the race is going to go. Every racer knows you never know what is going to happen in any given race.
4. What was the move from a Bandolero to a Legend Car like?
It was hard at first. I just had to get used to it. I race Legend Cars on iRacing sometimes [and] sometimes I used the clutch even though sometimes I don’t have to use the clutch. I used it to learn how to get the car going without stalling.
5. Why did you pick the number 08 when you moved into a Legend Car?
When I was with Curt Britt, I was the number 38, but Emma [Britt] is using the number 38. So, we went with Spencer Bragg’s number 08 [from] late models. He is the car owner of that Legend Car. We decided to use his car with my wrap on it with the number 08.
6. What is your favorite race track?
It depends on what car we are talking about. In a Bandolero it is Cordele, but in a Legend Car it is Atlanta Motor Speedway. At first, I actually loved Cordele in a Legend, but I just love how in the corner [at Atlanta] you have to watch out for the grass, because you aren’t allowed to touch the grass at the race track.
7. Would you rather spend one day in outer space or one week in a submarine?
What if we just sent a submarine to space?
8. What is your favorite snack?
Welch’s, the gummies, they are really good. The fruit snacks. They are really good for a long drive.
9. If you couldn’t be a race car driver, what sport would you play?
I don’t know if I would play any sports. I would help my dad with his drag racing stuff. I don’t really watch sports unless it’s NASCAR. I would just help my dad at his shop and at the drag strip.
10. You have great friends at the race track, what is it like having some of your closest friends are at the track with you?
I just love hanging out with people. I would rather hang out with people than being alone. I don’t mind being alone but it depends on what I’m doing. If I’m at the race track, then [I want to be around] as many people as possible.
11. What is your favorite racing memory?
It was 2022 at Citrus County Speedway, it was my first ever race [week]. One of the five days I finished third which was a really big deal. Getting a podium was in my opinion a really big deal back then.
12. When not at a race track, what hobbies do you have?
I hang out with my friends, outside with my friends, I play some video games, I do iRacing, and I’ll pretty much drive anything if it has wheels on it. If there are wheels on a scooter or a bike, I’ll ride it. I got a motorcycle for Christmas and I’ve been loving it!
13. What are your 2025 racing goals?
Right now, I want to keep learning to be the best I can be. If that takes me to NASCAR, that’s cool. But I love my Legend Car and I want to be like Bill Plemons when I grow up. I really want to race at Florence again, because Florence is actually one of my favorite tracks. That’s where I met Brexton Busch for the first time. I just think Florence is a beautiful track.
