The motocross turned Legends racer, Noah Madler, is working hard to achieve the national title this year. With a competitive edge that comes from racing against his brother, don’t be surprised if you see his three-digit car sliding past you on any dirt track he can find.

1. What got you into racing?
When I was a kid, my brother and I used to race motocross. That’s what introduced us to the world of racing. Then when I was around ten years old, we stopped racing motocross. We started to go to our local dirt track a lot to watch the races, and we were introduced to the Legend Cars there. One of the guys who worked there was promoting Legend Cars, and we got hooked. I was around 14 when we started driving Legends, and now here we are three years later.
2. Most people have a two-digit number, what made you pick a three-digit number?
Number 800 was actually my motocross number. There was a driver, Mike Alessi, who I looked up to a lot and that was his number. So, I took it and have stuck with it ever since for everything.
3. What has been your favorite track to race on?
I’d have to say Dacotah Speedway in Mandan, North Dakota. It was one of the first tracks I ever raced on, and I just have had a lot of good laps around it. It’s a great track, a good facility and it’s very well run.
4. What hobbies do you have outside of racing?
In school I used to play sports. I did basketball, track, and cross country, but other than that I don’t really do much outside of racing. It is my favorite thing and always will be.
5. What is it like racing with your brother?
It absolutely makes it more competitive. We tell each other all the time that we wouldn’t be so nervous before races if we weren’t racing against each other. We just push each other to be as fast as we can and the best that we can. We are also evenly matched skill-wise, so that makes it interesting too because we go back and forth on beating each other.
6. Who started racing first, you or your brother?
We started racing together, and 2021 was our first year.
7. What does it feel like knowing you are first in the Semi Pro division on dirt?
It feels really good. I have to say I have been watching the points pretty close this year. A couple of my buddies won the title in their divisions last year, so it’s definitely something that I want to achieve this year. I told myself at the beginning of the year, that if I’m going to do it, it must be this year. I’ve been traveling to different tracks and doing the best I can so hopefully we can get it.
8. What is your favorite thing about racing on dirt?
Although I’ve never raced anything else, but dirt just seems more interesting. There are different lines and different ways you can get around the track, like sliding, and all that fun stuff.
9. Who is someone you look up to in racing?
I would love to be like Kyle Larson. I just think he is really great, and I look up to him a lot.
10. How do you get focused before a race?
I don’t really have a strict routine. Sometimes I listen to music, and sometimes I’m just rushing around, so it really just depends on the day.
11. What win has meant the most to you so far in your career?
There was a Legend tour up here in North Dakota back in early June of this year. There were five nights and I won on last night and finished second in the points standings. I’d say that was my most memorable win because it was part of a big tour, there was lots of competition, and I was able to get the win.
12. How would you describe your racing style in 1 word?
That’s hard to decide but I’d say aggressive.
13. Do you have any hidden talents?
I do not, just racing, but that’s not very hidden.
14. If you could race against any driver in the world, who would it be?
I would like to race against Ricky Thornton Jr. or Kyle Larson. It would be cool to see how they get around the track from a different point of view and be able to learn from them.
