Four repeat, and four new winners reached Winter Nationals victory lane on Wednesday at Auburndale Speedway. One of the new winners came out of the Semi-Pro Division. Floridians Jerrod Holle and Jesse Martinez were the class of the Semi-Pro field on Wednesday night. While Neal Dulin was in the picture at times and having the best race of his week thus far, it was Martinez hunting down Holle at that captivated the audience. On a few occasions, Martinez was able to battle to the inside of Holle, but wasn’t able to lead a lap. This proved crucial for Holle as he led a lap by a hair before a caution. But all the efforts to stay ahead for Holle was spoiled when he slipped entering Turn 1 on Lap 20, opening the door for Martinez to scoot to the inside. Martinez had just crossed the line to start Lap 21 when the caution flew for a crash in Turn 4. During the restart, which the time flag was displayed, Martinez nearly gave it away but held on strong enough to hold Holle at bay entering Turn 3, but their wheels touched ever so slightly in what was a hard racing incident, sending Holle around. The yellow was thrown, the race ended, and Martinez captured a long awaited Winter Nationals feature win.

It was a spin and win for Danny Chisholm, who on Lap 4 spun following contact with Jake Bollman. He took his car to the hot pit for repairs and returned to the track. Methodically, he clawed his way back to the front with the assistance of some cautions. While he did, Joel Smith led the opening 15 laps, until Jensen Jorgensen muscled his way to the inside of him to take the lead. Smith’s day turned from great to bad quickly as he later spun out after contact from Jackson Lewis. Jorgensen did everything in his power to get the better restart over Chisholm with six laps to go, but it wouldn’t be enough. Chisholm moved Jorgensen through Turn 2 and even though Jorgensen gave a final lunge, it wasn’t enough, leaving Chisholm to park his car in victory lane.

It was an exciting finish to the Young Lions Feature, after what had been an enticing battle at the front from the start. Jayden Johnson was in command for the first 23 laps and through several crashes and restarts that included come hard hits for LaQuan McCoy, Colt Johnson, Hunter Harmon. Luckily, all were okay. The final restart happened on Lap 19, with seven laps to go. Johnson was under heavy pressure from Ben Morabito and Matthew Laprade at different points, but he finally fell with two laps to go. Laprade made the move, even bringing Morabito with him. Laprade went on to win his second feature victory in as many days.

Arguably one of the best races of the week, the Masters Division put on a good show. Littered with a few small single car cautions here and there, the competition in the Masters Day 3 race was one to watch. Bill Plemons led early, but after getting three wide with Brandin Wrisley and Zeke Hanger, he lost the lead to Hanger. Wrisley would later battle hard with Kevin Foisy following a mechanical issue for Plemons, sending him down the running order during a restart. The final run of the race ran 14 laps and Wrisley hustled his way to catch Hanger. But Hanger had put too much distance between the two. If only Wrisley had on more lap because he caught Hanger's bumper on the final pair of corners. Hanger held on and crossed the line first, his first victory of the week.

It was more of the same in the Bandits Division, as Brexton Busch started from pole and didn’t back down to any of his challengers. The battles were mostly behind him for second with a mixture of Evan Johnson, Gerald White III, and James Behnke fighting for second. In the later stages of the race, Behnke gave Busch every ounce of effort he had inside his Bandolero to find a way around Busch, but couldn’t seal the deal. In the end, the race finished under yellow as time had expired. It is Busch’s third win in as many days at Auburndale.

Chase Spaulding sparred with Landon Thrasher for the lead from the drop of the green flag in the Outlaws Feature race. The duo battled, side by side and bumper to bumper. One of the week’s wilder moments occurred when Jordan Bauer’s left tire detached from his Bandolero and launched his car into the car when the field was attempting to restart, and ripped off fiber glass. He was okay but left a spectacular mark on the day. During the following restart, Spaulding put his car to the inside of Thrasher but side by side racing opened the window for Wyatt Coffey to slip in, making it three-wide. He took the lead and after holding off Thrasher for two laps, the race ended early due to time expiration and a yellow for an on-track incident.

The Chargers Feature didn’t get off to a great start, as a freak incident occurred that stacked up and crashed several of the cars on the inside lane. When the race was finally able to get a Luke Giglio established control from the start, stretching the legs of his Legend Car to a healthy lead. A restart on Lap 7 proved to be more of a challenge as Sadie Parsons kept Giglio’s bumper closer to hers. But in the end, Giglio pulled away yet again to win his first Legend Car race by a healthy margin.

Like the Chargers, the start of the Beginner Bando Feature got off to a slow start as incidents during the first two attempts at the green flag led to the field being reset. Pole sitter Tayton Monroe led the first lap, but was passed up by the Monday and Tuesday winner, Maverick Bradshaw on Lap 2. Trouble stuck Monroe when his right front became detached and he crashed in to the wall on Lap 5. Bradshaw didn’t relinquish the lead on any of the following three restart, having enough to hold off Anthony Pedulla on his way to win his third straight win of the series.

Winter Nationals contines with Day 4 on Thursday from Auburndale Speedway. Coverage of the morning session (Young Lions, Semi-Pro, Masters, and Pro) will begin approximatley at 11:30am ET/8:30am PT with the afternoon session (Beginner Bandos, Bandits, Outlaws, and Chargers) beginning at 4:30pm ET/1:30pm ET on uslegendcars.tv.
