After a successful practice day on Monday, the first race day of the 2025 INEX Spring Nationals on Tuesday at Veterans Motorplex at the Rim was filled with plenty of high competitive energy. Round 1 witnessed tough, but firm battles and tight-knit racing as eight drivers deservingly found their way to victory lane to kick off a week of Nashville racing.
Defending Spring Nationals Bandits Champion, turned Outlaws driver, Landon Thrasher, found himself in victory lane after battling Rylan Speight. From the very first lap, Thrasher and Speight shot out and went racing side-by-side. Drivers found themselves mostly single file, with Thrasher and Speight stretching their lead on the rest of the field. A caution came out on the fourteenth lap, when Mason Roberts slid in a single car spin. After the restart, the two drivers again created a large distance between them and the rest of the field, and although it was close racing, Speight was unable to close the gap between him and Thrasher, who ultimalely won and started the defense of his Spring Nationals guitar.
In the Bandit Division, Brexton Busch jumped out to a good lead with Gerald White III and Christopher Flynn following right behind. Busch led the field until Lap 6, where he spun out and had to go to the back of the field, which put White in the lead position. After the restart, White took the lead for a couple of laps unchallenged, gunning for victory lane until Busch managed to climb back into second place on the ninth lap. After a restart on Lap 12, Busch and White both went racing side by side, creating a bit of distance between them and the rest of the field. During the last three laps, Busch and White went back and forth, both exchanging positions with Busch managing to climb back from last to the front during the eighteenth lap. It looked as if Busch was going to be able to make a big comeback, but on the very last lap, White was able to overtake Busch and take home the win.
The Semi-Pro Division was intense, starting with Cole Denton who took the lead on the first lap. From there, Denton continued to lead the field until a caution flag came out during the seventh lap. Upon the restart, Denton jumped the start a little too early, causing him to have to drop back and lose a position. This put Hunter Jordan in the front. From there, Jordan continued to control the lead and put some distance between him and the rest of the drivers. Even after a caution flag came out during the nineteenth lap, Jordan did not let anyone pass him during the following restart by controlling the inside lane, which allowed him to cruise in victory lane.
From the very first lap, Kevin Rollins controlled the lead with the rest of the field following in his tire marks. He was unchallenged throughout the race as Darrell Stewart and Wayne Grubb were unable to catch up to him. Rollins continued to grow his lead on the rest of the drivers and for the rest of the race drove right into victory lane, in what could not be a better start for the defending Spring National Masters Division Champion.
In the Young Lions Division, Spencer Bradshaw dominated the track. From start to finish, he controlled the race, even lapping three other drivers as he went from green to checkered. Colton Hale was the closest to overtaking Bradshaw during the last couple of laps of the race, but was not able to close the gap on Bradshaw in time.
Jacob Staten started from the number one starting position and dominated the Pro Division feature at Veterans Motorplex. The race went from start to finish, single file with no caution flags displayed. With no cautions to slow the field up, Staten built a solid lead between him and the rest of his competition.
Jase Riedner started from pole and battled with Jacob Hassey for the race lead up until the first caution. The two were involved in a caution during the middle part of the race, but with the small field size, both Riedner and Hassey were able to get back to the front quickly. Riedner ultimately held off Hassey for the opening Beginner Bandolero feature victory.
In the Chargers Division, Bryson Carlbert took home the win after jumping out to a sizeable lead on the first lap. From start to finish, Carlbert was unchallenged, and even after a couple of caution flags, Carlbert continued to hold that lead and went into victory lane.
Spring Nationals continues with Round 2 features on Wednesday from Veterans Motorplex at the Rim, with racing now scheduled to begin at 2pm ET/11am PT. The event will shift to Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway on Thursday, with racing on Friday and Saturday. All feature racing can be streamed on USLegendCars.TV.
