1. What was your biggest challenge of 2024?
Making all of our scheduled races for the traveling series, as well as our weekly races at our local track, [and] making sure we made the feature event for all the races.
2. What is your favorite memory from the 2024 season?
My favorite memory from the '24 season was my second hard charger award, which I got at Maquoketa Speedway, in Maquoketa, Iowa. I remember sitting in line up, telling myself that there was no way I could reach the top ten. My Heat race for that night is what set me back, as my car was really loose, and I couldn't control it. But my Dad, crew, and I made some changes, and they paid off! When the green flag dropped for the feature, I picked off about 5 cars in the first 5 laps, moving me from 21st to 16th, but I wasn't done yet! A caution came out at the halfway point and I found myself in 13th, having moved up eight spots already. After the caution, I got right back to work, finding the middle line that my care liked, and picking cars off one by one. When the checkered flag flew, I ended up going from 21st to 8th, making it my biggest Hard Charger award of my career.
3. You raced well at Beaver Dam Raceway, what made it such a fun track for you?
I think just the fact that it was my home track. That, and I grew up watching my Dad race there for my whole life. And then I was finally able to make my first laps at a place I grew to love!
4. How does it make you feel to take the National Championship home to Wisconsin?
It feels so unrealistic! To know how my career started back in 2022, I would've never thought I'd be a National Champion, in only my third year! It's been nine years since a cheese head has won the Young Lion Championship, so it feels great to finally be bringing it home!
