The Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway hosted Day 3 of the 2025 INEX Spring Nationals on Friday, with two full rounds of Legend Car and Bandolero racing. In total, 16 A Main features and two B Mains were contested among eight divisions. The third day fo Spring Nats racing was nothing but exciting and full of high competitive spirits with a few more caution stoppages compared to the first two days of the series. Nonetheless, the racing was intense with many races having close battles for the win.
Kevin Rollins began to pull out his broom as he continued to sweep the Masters Division. In the first feature of the day, he jumped out to a sizable lead in the very first lap. After a caution flag that came out during Lap two, Rollins continued to hold that lead with Casey Atwood, Wayne Grubb, and Darrell Stewart following closely behind. During Lap ten in the first race, Rollins began to pull away from the rest of the field as the rest of the drivers struggled to catch up to him. During Lap 16, Atwood was close to catching up to Rollins, but Rollins kept blocking Atwood's opportunity to overtake him, resulting in Rollins taking the win.
And Rollins' ability to dominate the field did not stop there. In the second feature, he again took the lead from the start and stayed in front of the field, not slowing down for a single second. Rollins, Atwood, Grubb and Stewart began to maneuver through lap traffic and even then, the rest of the drivers were still unable to catch up to him allowing Rollins to continue his win streak. Both races featured two former NASCAR drivers on the podium, in the form of Atwood and Grubb, not something that is seen often in Legend Car racing.
The Young Lions Division's first feature was a truly competitive and energetic race. The race started with Case James, who won Wednesday's Young Lions feature taking the lead. The race was single-file for most of the time until a big car pile-up happened during Lap 22. During the restart Ben Morabito, who was in third at the time, was able to pass Spencer Bradshaw and move into second place. James continued to lead until Lap 23, where Morabito was able to catch up to James, racing side by side until, on a last lap run, Morabito was able to make a move on the inside of James and took the lead, stealing the win from James.
The second feature was littered with caution flags, taking a few more moments than expected for the race to get underway. Once traction was found, TJ Moon was able to take the lead in the first lap and held that lead for the entire duration of the race, with Morabito, Bradshaw, and Colton Hale following closely behind. With the amount of caution flags that came out during the race, the time limit had been reached, and with one final caution flag coming out during Lap 9, Moon took the win.
Landon Thrasher was also able to continue his strong start to Spring Nationals in the first feature for the Outlaw Division. After taking a couple of attempts to get started, Thrasher took the lead, but not without competition from Lincoln Johnson and Harley Johnson. Both of them were right on the bumper of Thrasher, but as the race drew closer to the end, Thrasher started to dig a big lead on the rest of the drivers, and with neither Johnson able to catch up to him, Thrasher escaped with another victory for a third day in a row.
But that streak would come to an end in the second feature. The second race started with Thrasher, Lincoln Johnson, and Harley Johnson all in the top pole positions. Thrasher was under pressure from Johnson and Johnson as they did not let up, putting the heat on Thrasher. Thrasher was able to stay in the lead for the entire race, making it into victory lane, but during technical inspection Thrasher was disqualified, elevating Lincoln Johnson to the victory in Round 4.
The first Semi-Pro feature started with Neal Dulin taking the lead, followed by Cole Denton, Chase Burgeson and Dylan Faulkner. It was a battle for second place as Burgeson and Denton started racing side by side. During the ninth lap, Dulin lost the lead after getting bumped to the outside, allowing for Denton and Burgeson to both pass him. Burgeson was able to take the inside lane and overtake Denton, controlling the lead. After a yellow flag had come out during the 18th lap, the time limit had been reached with Burgeson in the lead. During the Lap 18 restart during there was a wreck that resulted in a caution, gifting Burgeson any early victory.
The second race started again with Dulin taking the lead with Hunter Jordan, Burgerson, and Jesse Martinez following behind. Dulin stayed in the lead until Lap 9 where Jordan bumped Dulin, dropping him to fifth place. After the restart, it took a couple of laps but Dulin was able to climb back up to second place after making quick work of drivers ahead of him. During Lap 15 Dulin managed to get back into first place and for the rest of the race, he controlled the lead, successfully blocking Jordan and making a commendable comeback and going into victory lane.
A repeat happened in the Bandits Division as Brexton Busch would win both features Thursday. In the first feature, Busch was able to stave off James Behnke who was right behind putting pressure on Busch in the beginning of the race. As the racers reached Lap 5, Busch began to pull away from everyone else as the battle for second place started to take place between Behnke and Wesley Baumeister. Behnke and Baumeister would exchange positions, fighting back and forth with Behnke winning the exchange but still unable to catch up to Busch, who would take the win in the first feature and in the second feature, do it again.
The second feature went exactly as the first as Busch continued to dominate the field, taking the lead early on in the first lap. During the fourth lap, a caution flag came out, shorting the field up. Busch jumped out to a big lead on the rest of the field after the restart and the race looked similar to the end of the first feature. The battle in the second feature was again Behnke and Baumeister for second. They continued to go as Busch drove ahead with a very comfortable lead. Behnke was able to keep Baumeister in his rearview mirror while Busch cruised into victory lane.
It took a couple of attempts for the first Chargers feature to get going. Once they got their footing it was an exciting battle as Jagger Parker started the first feature off in the lead. The first half of the race started as single file, with there being a bit of distance between the top four versus the rest of the field. It would continue to be that way until a yellow flag came out on the seventh lap. After the restart, the field would shorten up and Cole Gudmestad would be on the bumper of Parker. On Lap 9, Parker would slow up going into Turn 4, which allowed Gudmestad to slip through into first and then from there it was no catching up to him. After another caution flag on Lap 11, the time limit had been reached and after a single car spin, the race ended with Gudmestad being declared the race winner.
In the second feature, Gumdestad would start in the lead but lost it after Parker overtook him six laps into the race. After Parker did not let go of the lead, blocked every attempt from Gudmestad to pass him. Gudmestad got close to passing Parker in the closing laps but could not muster the speed, with Parker escaping with the win.
The Beginner Bandoleros had an exciting race Friday as Jase Riedner and Jacob Hassey continued their battle with each other. In the first feature race, Jaxson Riley started off in the lead with Riedner and Hassey right behind. Riley continued to be in the lead until he spun out on his way into Turn 1. After the restart Hassey took the lead with Riedner right on his bumper. It was a race to the finish between these two, as they kept going back and forth and changing positions. On a last lap shootout, Hassey was ahead of Riedner, poised for the win but Riedner trying to make a move, made contact with the back of Hassey’s bumper, taking them both out of the race, letting Michael Mazzagatti come from third to take the win.
The second feature only saw one yellow flag as Riedner and Hassey went back at it again, battling one another for the win. As the top four broke away, Riedner kept Hassey at bay, despite him being right on his bumper. Hassey applied pressure every way he could but could not get around Riedner, who was then able to scoot into victory lane.
It was Jacob Staten’s day at Nashville Fairgrounds in the Pro Division. The first feature was headed by Michael Crafton with Joel Smith, Staten, and Alex McCollum behind. During Lap 2, Crafton slowed up going into Turn 2 and Staten took advantage of the mishap and slid into the lead. After taking the lead Staten then began to stretch his legs to a big lead, with Crafton trying to catch up. No caution flags flew and Crafton was unable to catch up to Staten
Staten would repeat later in the evening after staying ahead of an accident that unfortunately took out half the field during the opening laps of the second feature. After the restart and with most of the drivers having to retire their cars, it was a back and forth between Crafton and Staten. Crafton held the lead early on the feature but Staten was able to catch up to him and complete the overtake during the 23rd lap. A final lunge for victory was made by Crafton, but to no avail. Staten made the block, earning his third win in four races in Spring Nationals.
Despite three Pro Division wins, Staten holds only a three-point margin over Crafton in the Pro Division standings with Joel Smith trailing by 17 with only one round left on Saturday. Cole Denton’s consistency has landed him an 11-point advantage over Bradley Swift and 22 points over Hunter Jordan, who suffered from a poor finish in Friday’s first Semi-Pro race.
The Young Lions Division may be the one to watch, as Spencer Bradshaw and TJ Moon are tied with 376 points each. Ben Morabito sits two points behind and Colton Hale is six back. Kevin Rollins is the only driver perfect after four of five rounds, holding a 24-point advantage over Wayne Grubb, and 31 over Darrell Stewart for the Masters title.
Brexton Busch stretched his points lead to 24 points over Wesley Baumeister with only one round remaining in the Bandits Division. The opposite story is true in the Bandolero Outlaws Division. Harley Johnson has just a two-point lead over brother Lincoln, and a five-point gap to Rylan Speight.
The 2025 INEX Spring Nationals concludes Saturday evening, with the action starting from Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway at 6pm ET/3pm PT on USLegendCars.TV.
